Some photographs are meant to be remembered...
We spend so much of our lives thinking there will always be more time.
More birthdays. More celebrations. More chances to gather the people we love in one place and make the photograph.
But photographs can become more meaningful as the years pass. What feels like an ordinary portrait today can become a treasured reminder of who we were, who we loved, and the life we shared.
That is why I believe a portrait should be more than something saved on a phone. It should be intentional. It should be made to be seen, cherished, and passed down.
I create fine art portrait experiences for people who want to celebrate who they are and the people they love - today - while creating something their families can still hold onto long after this moment has passed.

THE EXPERIENCE
You don't have to know how to be in front of the camera.
You just have to show up as yourself.
Having your portrait made can feel unfamiliar. You might not know how you want to be photographed, what to wear, or whether you'll feel comfortable in front of the camera. That's completely okay.
My role isn't simply to take your photograph. It's to get to know you, understand what matters to you, and help you feel comfortable enough to let your personality and story come through.
We'll work together to plan a portrait that feels true to you, and I'll guide you throughout the session. You don't need to arrive with all the answers. We'll figure things out together, with your story and your comfort at the centre of the experience.
It starts with a conversation.
No pressure to have everything figured out. Just an opportunity to talk about what you're looking for and whether we're the right fit.

WHAT
TO
EXPECT
1. We talk
We begin with a conversation about what brings you here, what you'd like your portrait to express, and what matters most to you. It's a chance to ask questions, explore ideas, and see if we're a good fit.
2. We create
Together, we plan your session around your story and the artwork you envision. When session day arrives, I'll guide you through the process so you can focus on being present rather than worrying about the camera.
3. Your story becomes artwork
We'll review your portraits and select the images and finished artwork you want to live with, display, and pass down. The experience culminates in something tangible, made to be enjoyed beyond a screen.

"Neil did some wonderful photos of me for my Celebration of Life session. Neil's images are more than photos, they are works of art. I feel he captured the essence of myself and I'm proud to show these images to friends and family."

A photograph isn't just about the moment it was taken.
Sometimes, its greatest meaning comes years later.
We don't always know which photographs will become the ones we hold closest.
A portrait made today may one day become a daughter’s favourite photograph of her mother, a husband’s reminder of the woman he built a life with, or something a child keeps long after their parents are gone.
We make photographs for today.
We create portraits for tomorrow.

"I started my session with Neil feeling very clumsy and unsure of myself. He very quickly provided me with guidance and reassurance that helped me feel so comfortable, and was happy to work to find methods of directing me to pose that I could follow, instead of simply repeating a direction the same way over again until I understood. The raw photos he took were stunning on their own, but the final edits really blew me away." too"

More than one reason to make a portrait.
To celebrate who you are today.
To create something beautiful with someone you love.
To honour a life and preserve someone's story.
Or simply to see yourself in a way you never have before.
Whatever brings you to the studio, I believe your portrait should feel personal, intentional, and unmistakably yours.
